ENVY: A DEAD SINKING STORY

adored by screamo fans and
deserving of way more recognition

a dead sinking story sounds like its name - heavy, crushing waves of post-metal influenced guitar chords being barely overpowered by a man who sounds like he permanently lost his voice from screaming and clawing his way through a decade's worth of saltwater

not an album for the impatient. songs lean 6+ minutes with the most interlude-y tracks being 3 and 5 min long respectively. that's not to say those tracks are bad, but if you want a more blunt and to-the-point record, then you'd be better off checking out "all the footprints you ever left and the fear expecting ahead"

that said, these guys can't really do wrong in my book. even their newest stuff is pretty good
